That distinction is meaningful. It reflects the fact that serious legal work often depends on matter specific documents, shared internal knowledge, jurisdiction specific legal materials, and current external context in the same workflow.
Jurisdiction still matters
One of the clearest trust signals in legal AI is whether legal sources are tied to the right jurisdiction. In Lexandro, users must first select a jurisdiction in order to search legal knowledge bases, then choose Law, Cases, or both.
The Legal Knowledge page also separates Laws and Cases into dedicated tabs, each with jurisdiction specific availability. The available countries depend on which tab is active, and different jurisdictions may have different data available.
A platform becomes more dependable when legal materials are not treated as generic legal memory, but as jurisdiction specific inputs that the user actively controls.
The answer should lead back to the source
Grounding matters most when it changes the review workflow. In Lexandro, when the AI uses sources to answer a question, the user can click Show sources below the response and review them by type. Clicking a source opens the supporting material directly. Document sources open in the PDF viewer, while web sources open in a new browser tab.
That is a materially better fit for legal work. Instead of receiving a confident answer and then manually reconstructing its basis, the reviewer can move directly from output to source. Source grounding does not guarantee that every answer is correct. It makes the review path visible and much easier to follow.
Official source access makes trust stronger
Trust becomes even stronger when the platform does not stop at summaries or extracted references. Many laws and cases in Lexandro include links to official source documents, allowing users to open the original text directly from government or court websites.
Legal Knowledge records also include a details view with the full title, metadata, all available fields, and source links for the underlying record.
This matters because legal trust should not depend on the platform alone. It should also depend on whether the user can move back to the original authority when needed.
